The VIVACE 2 supports all high resolution music formats including DXD (352.8kHz/24bit) as well as a DSD 64/128/256/512 stream. 4x digital inputs provide flexibility for the source connection, whereas the balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs directly drive a power amplifier. Volume is adjustable and remote controllable in the analog domain still with digital precision. In comparison to his predecessors, the VIVACE 2 has lower noise, lower distortion, superior accuracy plus the new high sample rate asynchronous USB audio interface.
Even with a standard 44.1kHz/16Bit source you will experience a crisp and clean sound never heard before. This is of particular importance because music from the major labels is obtainable in the CD format only. Higher data rates will give you more air and sparkle, while DSD showcases an even livelier and vibrant sound.

Galvanically isolated asynchronous USB tranceiver
Any form of jitter in the incoming datastream is compensated by a small buffer. The audio data is clocked by a local high precision quartz master clock, eliminating all timing related distortions. Furthermore the transceiver circuitry is galvanically isolated from the rest of the DAC. The coupling capacitance between the two sections is in the order of a few picofarads. This eliminates effectively the noise interference from the host PC.
Hybride volume control
VIVACE 2 is the very first d-a-converter combining digital and analog attenuation seamlessly, resulting in a lossless volume control not comparable with the usual on chip approach often seen in lesser designs.
Linear power supply
While interchanging a switch mode wall adapter with a linear supply offers some more and noticeable performance, it remains fact, that all other DC-DC converter inside the actual audio component stay in place. Regardless of price and brand, all audio gear offered using a wall adapter must employ these DC-DC converters to generate all required voltages. Even full size components not supplied by a wall adapter take advantage from these modern circuits. Although not evil, one must remember that a switch mode power supply works with high frequencies and high currents. In combination, both make up an excellent RF transmitter making it difficult if not impossible to control the noisy electrical fields. In order to get the utmost performance from analog audio circuits, it is necessary to banish the 50/60Hz transformer from the audio enclosure because of its high magnetic stray field and at the same time eliminate any RF interference originating from high frequency power electronics.
